I feel very fortunate living here in Southern California. The largest sportfishing fleet in the world calls this area home. There are some very talented captains piloting these sportfishing boats. Most of the captains I know are not only talented at finding fish, they are also avid fishermen themselves. One of the very best is Captain Bruce Smith of Fortune Sportfishing. Before buying his own boat, Smith was the captain of the luxury long-range sportfisher The Shogun.

A couple of years ago, Bruce returned to his old boat with a self-imposed challenge: to catch a wahoo on the fly. Wahoo are one of the fastest, toothiest, and hardest-fighting fish in the ocean, so catching one on a fly setup is a mighty challenge. Watch this remarkable video to see how he did it.
